Admission Requirements
Admission to undergraduate courses is available to domestic applicants from a range of educational backgrounds. The General Entry Requirements (GER) for RSU undergraduate courses are listed below. Individual courses may have higher requirements.
For information on individual courses, including prerequisite knowledge and specific entry requirements please visit the University's Courses & Units website. You can also enquire online for advice on the application process and the available pathways to study at RSU.
We encourage you to apply for the courses you most want to study. If you’re not eligible to enter your chosen course right now, the RSU admissions team will work with you to find the best pathway option.
STEP 1 | Submit your RSU Application!
STEP 2 | High School Transcripts
Students must submit a high school transcript for their application to be reviewed. We will accept either an unofficial or official transcript. Students are able to upload these transcripts through our student portal.
An official final high school transcript (provided by the high school to RSU), which includes all secondary school grades, class rank and date of graduate must be submitted prior to enrollment.
Students whose transcripts are unavailable should consult with an admissions counselor. Or, the applicant can provide a High School Equivalency Diploma, if applicable, with corresponding score sheet.
STEP 3 | Test Optional - SAT/ACT Scores
RSU has a test-optional (SAT/ACT) admissions policy for the majority of our freshman applicants. When applying students can select the testing plan they want to apply under.
We do have a few select programs and student groups that do require standardized tests. They include:
- Traditional Nursing Program Applicants (SAT/ACT)
- Prospective Athletes (SAT/ACT)
- International Students (TOEFL/IELTS)
You may still share with us your SAT or ACT scores though they are not required for admission for other programs.
STEP 4 | Supporting Documents
Students are also able to submit any supporting documents that they believe will enhance their application through our student portal.
Examples of documents include:
- Résumé
- Letter of Recommendation
- Personal written statement
STEP 5 | Supplemental Requirements
Certain major concentrations at Mercy require supplemental admissions items. Visit the Undergraduate Catalog or contact the Office of Admissions for further information.
